Abolizione Scorporo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abolizione Scorporo ( abolition of the withdrawal of votes ; full name: Movimento per l'abolizione dello scorporo e per il rispetto della sovranità popolare - per l'abolizione dello scorporo, per la stabilità di governo, no ai ribaltoni ) is the electoral list ( Lista Civetta ), with which the candidates of the center-right alliance Casa delle Libertà ran for the majority part of the Italian parliamentary elections in 2001 and for the European elections in 2004 , suggesting that the withdrawal of votes would amount to a coup d'état ( ribaltone ). The 2001 elections, however, led to the paradoxical result that not all parties in the alliance were able to occupy the parliamentary seats to which they were entitled according to the proportionality principles enshrined in the electoral law, as they did not have enough candidates in some regions. This was especially true for the Forza Italia of Silvio Berlusconi .
