Abraham M. Eckstein

Abraham M. Eckstein , actually Abraham Mannes , (* unknown; † unknown) was a German-Jewish tobacco manufacturer. Since 1828 he had the family name Eckstein. He came from the Paderborn bishopric and settled in Lauenförde , where he ran a small tobacco and cigar factory. In 1843 he went to Göttingen and started producing cigarettes there. He thus laid the foundation for the later important cigarette factory Eckstein and Eckstein-Halpaus , located in Dresden and Breslau .
