Abraham by Beth Rabban
Abraham of Beth Rabban was a theologian, professor, and principal at the Nisibis School . The School of Nisibis was the theological training center of the Assyrian Church of the East at the beginning of the 6th century.
At the age of 15 he wanted to become a monk. He was friends with the Antiochene theologian Narsai of Nisibis . In 510 Abraham became principal of the school. He held this position until 569. As a teacher, he drew many students to the school; at that time, more than 1,000 students are said to have studied at the school in Nisibis. He published a large number of papers.
