Abraham of Kiduna

Abraham of Kiduna (* around 290; † around 360 near Kiduna near Edessa, today Şanlıurfa ) was a hermit , missionary and saint . His feast day is October 29th.

Abraham lived for around 50 years in a hut near Kiduna, near the ancient city of Edessa, which is in the southeast of what is now Turkey. There he evangelized the local population. Among other things , he converted his niece, Maria, the penitent who worked as a prostitute in a brothel and, after her uncle's conversion, committed her further life to God.

Abraham of Kiduna is depicted in art as a hermit with a long, fiery red beard.
