Abron is one of the most common languages in Ghana and is also spoken by some speakers in Ivory Coast .
With around 1,050,000 speakers in Ghana (as of 2003), it is one of the more important languages in Ghana. Regionally, Abron is mainly spoken in central Ghana, where it has its regional focus northwest of the Ashanti region in the Brong-Ahafo region . Alternative names are Brong (Ghana), Bron, Doma, and Gyaman.
With 131,700 speakers, it is a comparatively insignificant language in Ivory Coast. Here it is mainly found in the east, near the border with Ghana in the Tanda and Bondoukou departments .
