Deportation (geology)
At a deportation (ger .: normal fault ), there is a fault in which the layers in the hanging wall to the bottom to move. This usually happens with an angle of incidence of 30 to 60 ° compared to the perpendicular, but shallower faults are also known ( detachment ). Faults are typical for expansion areas, where mostly trench structures (see rift valley ) form on the surface . In the event of deportation, the deformation of the layer sequence results in a layer failure.
Deportation can result in a clod in the area .
