Farewell to St. Petersburg is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 210). The work was first performed on September 5, 1858 in Pavlovsk , Russia.

Remarks

The work was created in the summer of 1858 and was premiered at one of the last concerts of the Strauss Chapel before the journey home. Accordingly, the work is characterized by a certain melancholy and farewell mood, even if the usual popular melodies were not missing. Johann Strauss later took up parts of the coda in his Kaiser Waltz (op. 437). The waltz was very well received in both Russia and Vienna, where it was first performed in the Volksgarten on November 21, 1858.
