Absorption length
The absorption length is the distance in an absorbent propagation medium in which the first incident radiation up to a specified residual absorbed was.
Half of the required residual size is sometimes taken, but mostly 1 / e (≈ 0.37). e is Euler's number . The absorption length is generally material and energy dependent.
