Proof of parentage (horse)

Proof of parentage for horses are breeding papers for horses that are issued by the respective breeding association . A prerequisite for a pedigree certificate is that both parent animals are entered in the stud book of the relevant breed association . The pedigree certificate contains a pedigree of the horse.

Proof of parentage is integrated into the equine passport in Germany . The title deed for horses is not proof of parentage.

In Switzerland the document is called a certificate of origin .
