Pedigree paper (horse)

Title deed issued by the VZAP

In Germany and Austria, all horses that either come from a recognized breed or have been admitted to a breeding association receive pedigree papers . The papers are issued on request by the respective breeding association with which the horse is registered.

The papers consist of two documents, the title deed and the equine passport . The proof of parentage is integrated in the equine passport.

The title deed (comparable to the German vehicle registration document ) is proof of ownership of the horse listed. In addition to the information from the title deed, the equine passport contains other sections that document the development of the horse.
