Aby Warburg Prize
The Aby-Warburg-Preis ( own description : Aby-Warburg-Preis; until 2012 Aby-M.-Warburg-Preis ) is a science award of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg . The award was founded in 1979 by the city's Senate and was first awarded in 1981 (for 1980). It is awarded for excellent performance in the humanities and social sciences. It is named after the Hamburg-born art and cultural scientist Aby Warburg . The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and is awarded every four years.
The award should not be confused with the Science Prize of the Aby Warburg Foundation , Hamburg, and the Eric M. Warburg Prize .
