Abydenos
Abydenos was an ancient Greek historian . Nothing is known about his life; due to linguistic criteria, it is dated to the 2nd century.
Abydenos wrote a history of the Chaldeans and Assyrians ( Greek περὶ Ἀσσυρίων ) which was used by Eusebius of Caesarea and others. Some fragments are preserved in the Praeparatio Evangelica of Eusebius and in the work of Cyril of Alexandria directed against Emperor Julian . The work is mainly based on excerpts from Alexander Polyhistor , who in turn was based on Berossus .
