from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The badge for merits in the Mach-Mit-Movement was an award of the National Front for the National Construction (NAW) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) which was donated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the GDR in October 1969.

The motto was Beautiful our cities and communities, join in! The award of the initially 32 mm high rectangular badge, later only 24 mm, took place for merits in voluntary work. The rectangular badge shows a silver tree on a red background, the crown of which represents the state coat of arms of the GDR (hammer and compass). To the left of the trunk is the anniversary of the GDR 2 and to the right of it 0 . In the smaller version of the badge, which was awarded after 1969, the year is no longer shown. : Surrounded the symbol of the tree of the inscription is BEAUTIFUL OUR TOWNS AND MUNICIPALITIES and down JOIN . The back was smooth and showed a cross-soldered needle with a counter-hook. Collective and whole house communities, on the other hand, received a larger badge that was not wearable, but otherwise the same.

The large plaque was made of white Meissen porcelain.
