Active work badge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The badge for active work was an award from the Society for Sport and Technology in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in one step for the first time at the beginning of the 1950s. He was awarded for many years of active participation in the GST.

Appearance and wearing style

So far, three forms of the badge have become known. The original form shows a gold-plated laurel wreath with a black, red and gold heraldic shield in the middle. Above it is a white tape with the inscription: FOR ACTIVE WORK, above which an oversized 25 mm high red pentagonal star can be seen, which shows the GST symbol in the middle. The second form of the badge then only showed the 21 mm high GST symbol instead of the star and the third and last form, which was introduced in 1961, also did without the black, red and gold coat of arms. The badge was worn on the left side of the chest as a cross.
