Badge for good work in compass competition

The badge for good work in the compass competition of the FDJ was an award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1960. The award was made after evaluating the compass competition, which served to strengthen the GDR and was awarded to deserving members of the FDJ in this context. The 24 mm high badge shows a stylized compass , the needle of which can be read 1960 . Instead of the graduation, the inscription: FOR GOOD WORK (above) and IN THE FDJ COMPASS COMPETITION . Behind the compass you can see part of a blue enameled flag of the FDJ and below it a semicircular double oak leaf branch that reaches up to the flag.
