Acala (also: Acalanātha , Āryācalanātha , Ācala Vidya rāja or Caṇḍamahāroṣaṇa ; chinese  不動明王  /  不动明王 , Pinyin Budong Mingwang ; Jap. 不動明王 , Fudō myōō ) is a god or "Mantra King" ( Vidyārāja ) of the Buddhist . He is considered to be the “protector of teaching”. His image is often found in front of temples to ward off enemies. He is depicted as a three-eyed, snarling figure with six arms and is armed with a sword, a vajra (thunderbolt), a hatchet and a noose.
