Paul Eyschen

Paul Eyschen (born September 9, 1841 in Diekirch , † October 11, 1915 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourg politician.

Life

Paul Eyschen was the son of Charles-Gérard Eyschen . He studied law in Bonn and Paris , then worked as a lawyer.

In 1866 he was elected as a member of the Assemblée des États .

From 1875 to 1888 he was Chargé d'Affaires to the German government. Between 1876 and 1888 he was also Director General (Minister) for Justice in the governments of Félix de Blochausen and Édouard Thilges .

On September 22, 1888 Paul Eyschen succeeded Édouard Thilges as Minister of State and President of the Government. He held these offices for 27 years until his death in 1915. At the same time he was director general for external relations and from 1896 responsible for agriculture and viticulture.

Honors

For his services, Eyschen was accepted into the Nassau House Order of the Golden Lion on June 21, 1893 .
