Politician Édouard Thilges

Jules Georges Édouard Thilges (born February 17, 1817 in Klerf , † July 9, 1904 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourg politician .

From 1833 to 1838 Thilges studied law in Brussels and Liège . In 1841 he became a lawyer at the court in Diekirch .

From 1854 to 1856 he was director general (minister) for community affairs and from 1859 to 1860 for home affairs in the Simons government . From 1867 to 1870 he was again director general for community affairs, this time under the Servais government .

On February 20, 1885, Thilges was appointed Minister of State and District President, an office he held until September 22, 1888. From 1888 to 1895 he was President of the Council of State .
