Accomac

The Accomac (Accomac the land behind it ) was an Indian - tribe of the Algonquian language family . They belonged to the Powhatan Confederation . In 1812 they lost their identity as an independent tribe and were merged into various other tribes.

A city in the US state Virginia was named after the Accomac , see Accomac (Virginia) .
