Ace of Aces is an aerial warfare action game developed by Artech Digital Entertainment and first released for the Commodore 64 in 1986 . As a result, it was ported to various home computers and game consoles.

The player takes on the role of a mosquito pilot in the Royal Air Force during World War II .

Gameplay

The game is divided into four different mission types. The player takes on air combat against enemy pilots and V1 missiles that are on their way to London . In addition, trains must be destroyed with bombs and submarines sunk. The pilot can find the best route to the destination on a map in the navigation view. Enemy units are also marked here.

The game was generally rated well by the trade press. The graphics were particularly praised, as were the realistic engine noises and the changing weather. However, there was criticism for the simple gameplay, which gets boring after a short time.
