Ad-Dawr, or al-Dour , is a place on the east bank of the Tigris in Salah ad-Din Governorate in Iraq .
The place is located around 15 km south of Tikrit . During the US military operation Operation Red Dawn on December 13, 2003, former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was tracked down and arrested in a hiding place in ad-Dawr.
