Vilim Rosandić (born June 17, 1996 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian - Slovak ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Aigles de Nice in the French Ligue Magnus since January 2019 . His older brother Mislav plays internationally for Slovakia .

Career

Vilim Rosandić began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Nitra , for whom he played in various Slovak junior leagues. In 2014 he moved to HC 05 Banská Bystrica , for whom he plays in the Slovak U20 league. In the 2014/15 season he also made his first appearance in the Slovakian extra league . In the 2014/15 season he achieved the lowest percentage of goals conceded per game in the Slovak U20 league. He spent the 2016/17 season at HC 07 Detva in the first division , the second highest Slovak division, where he made a significant contribution to the championship of his club with the fewest goals against. then he moved to KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Austrian ice hockey league .

International

For Croatia, Rosandić took part in the junior division II of the U18 World Championships in 2013 , when he was voted the best player of his team, and in 2014 , when he was also awarded the best goalkeeper with the best catch rate of the tournament, and the 2014 U20 World Championships , 2015 , when he had the lowest percentage of goals conceded and the best capture percentage of the tournament behind the Australian Charlie Smart , and in 2016 , when he had the third best capture percentage behind the Hungarian Gergely Arany and the Lithuanian Artur Pavliukov and the second lowest goal against Arany of the tournament .

In the senior category, Rosandić was in the squad of the Croatian men's team for the first time in February 2016 for the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang , but was only used in the 6-0 defeat against Ukraine . In April of that year he played at the men's world championship in Division I and there, behind the Ukrainian Eduard Sachartschenko, he achieved both the second-best catch quota and the second-lowest goal against goals of the tournament.
