The Aigles de Nice (official name: Nice Hockey Côte d'Azur ) are a French ice hockey team from Nice , which was founded in 2003 and plays in Division 1 , the second highest French ice hockey league, in the 2012/13 season .
history
Nice Hockey Côte d'Azur was founded in 2003 and initially started in fourth-class Division 3 , in which they won the championship title straight away in 2004. In the fourth year in Division 2 , the team rose in 2008 as a third division champion in the second-rate Division 1 , in which they have played since then.
Based on the heraldic animal of the city of Nice, an eagle adorns the club's logo. The team itself is also called Aigles (French for eagle).
