Eduard Olexandrowytsch Zakharchenko ( Ukrainian Едуард Олександрович Захарченко , Russian Эдуард Александрович Захарченко Eduard Alexandrovich Zakharchenko ; * 4. August 1995 in Vladivostok , Russia ) is a Ukrainian - Russian ice hockey player who last until 2017 when HK Kremenchuk in the Ukrainian Hockey League played.

Career

Eduard Sachartschenko learned to play ice hockey in his native city of Vladivostok . In the 2011/12 season he played in the junior division for both Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk and the U18 juniors of HK Sokil Kiev . After playing for HK Kremenchuk and for Olympez Balashchicha in 2012/13 , he was active from 2013 to 2015 at HK Tschelny in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga , a Russian-dominated multinational junior league. In the 2014/15 season he also played for HK Kremenchuk in the Ukrainian league . From the beginning of the 2015/16 season, the goalkeeper also played for HK Generals Kiev in the Ukrainian ice hockey league . There he was awarded the best goalkeeper in the league in 2016 with the best catch quota and the lowest goals against goals .

He then returned to HK Kremenchuk for a year and again achieved the best catch quota in the league in 2017. Before the start of the 2017/18 season, the Ukrainian joined the Nottingham Panthers from the British Elite Ice Hockey League , but they terminated the relationship in September 2017 without Sachartschenko having played for the English. The reason was the suspension of the goalkeeper by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF for all competitions, as the suspicion had been reinforced that Sakharchenko and his national team colleague Volodymyr Varywoda in the context of the World Cup of Division IA 2017 in a possible match- fixing against South Korea were involved. The Ukraine Ice Hockey Federation had previously banned him for life.
