AdAway is an ad blocker for Android .

function

AdAway blocks advertisements by redirecting the connection to advertising networks to the local IP address 127.0.0.1. This is done with the help of hosts files from different sources that are automatically combined. The user can whitelist or blacklist web servers or add new hosts files. It is possible to log DNS requests to support whitelisting or blacklisting . AdAway requires root access , as the hosts file on the system is in the system partition.

distribution

AdAway is no longer available in the Google Play Store due to Google's ad blocker ban . Nevertheless, the ad blocker is very well known and has over 1 million users.
