Adai

The Adai (other spellings: Adaizan , Adaizi , Adaise , Adahi , Adaes , Adees , Atayos ) were a North American Indian tribe . The Adai language is considered an isolated language . They lived in Louisiana and were allies of the French against the Spanish. Since their settlement area stretched over French and Spanish territory, they suffered badly from the conflicts between the two nations.

The Adai had around 400 members around 1700, but only 27 in 1827 and are now considered extinct.
