Adalbero II († May 12, 1025 in Basel ) was bishop in Basel at the beginning of the 11th century .

Adalbero was the first bishop in Basel who - during his entire term of office (999-1025) - minted coins and thus had an important ruling privilege. The award of the Moutier-Grandval Abbey in 999 by King Rudolf III. from Burgundy to Adalbero II. also marks the hour of birth of the later duchy of Basel with its extensive estates.

The history books mention Adalbero II for the first time in 999, when under him the royal minting rights were transferred to the bishopric. The dates of his life are not known. However, numerous coins from this period bear his name. Under Adalbero II, the building of the three-aisled cathedral of today's Basel Minster was built , since the 20th century mostly "Heinrichsmünster", more rarely called "Adalbero Cathedral". Adalbero II was city lord in Basel and representative of the emperor. On October 11, 1019, in the presence of Emperor Heinrich II , he inaugurated the Basel Minster, which was newly built during his tenure.

Adalbero II died in 1025 just under a year after his friend and patron Emperor Heinrich II. After his death, King Konrad II appointed Bishop Ulrich II as a man of his favor as Bishop of Basel. Adalbero II was buried in the rear crypt of Basel Minster.
