Adam of Cologne

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adam von Köln (also Adam Teuto or Adam Coloniensis ) was a German author who was active in literature between 1355 and 1370.

meaning

Adam von Köln revised the work Summa de poenitentia et matrimonio by the Dominican Raimund von Penyafort and wrote rhymes on the work, which appeared in Cologne in 1502 under the title Summula clarissimi Raymundi brevissimo compendio sacramentorum alta complectens mysteria . It then appeared in many editions and became a widely used handbook of the pastoral clergy.

It is believed that Adam of Cologne also belonged to the Dominican order.

Adam of Cologne and Adam, the German

It has been suggested that Adam Teuto and Adam Coloniensis could have been two different authors. Adam of Cologne was assigned the Commentarius in quatuor sententiarum libros and Adam Teuto was assigned the summula .
