Adelino Castelo David

Adelino Santiago Castelo David (* 1955 ) is a bank manager and politician from São Tomé and Príncipe .

biography

After completing his degree with a doctorate , David initially worked as a bank manager and as such was most recently president of the Caixa Nacional de Poupanças e Crédito. In 1992 he was appointed governor of the country's central bank , the Banco Central de São Tomé e Príncipe . He held this position until he moved to the World Bank in 1994, where he worked in the following years as an advisor and representative of the government of São Tomé and Príncipe.

On January 5, 1999, Prime Minister Guilherme Posser da Costa appointed him Minister of Finance and Planning in his government. He held this position until the end of Posser da Costa's tenure on September 26, 2001. From 2002 to 2004 he was then advisor to the Ministry of Finance.

He again held the office of Minister of Finance and Planning in the government of Prime Minister Damião Vaz d'Almeida from September 18, 2004 to June 2, 2005. Afterwards, he was once again advisor to the Ministry of Finance.
