Adelsried (Bernried)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adelsried is part of the municipality of Bernried am Starnberger See .

The Adelsried settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1083 as Arnotesriet , ie "clearing of the Arnolt". The ending “-ried” suggests a foundation at the turn of the millennium. Later the Schwaige Adelsried belonged to the Bernried monastery and Berthold von Seefeld owned a bailiwick and two estates in Adelsried in 1348.

In 1914, the brewery owner's daughter Wilhelmina Busch acquired the Adelsried estate and her husband opened a horse breeding business there. In 1956 Adelsried changed hands again and now belonged to Lorenz Mayer.
