As Adespota (from Greek  ἀδέσποτος “without a master”, “from an unknown author”, “anonymous”) works or fragments of works by unknown authors are referred to in philology .

Above all, the collections of Adespota on the fragments of the Greek tragedians are known, originally in the edition of the Tragicorum Graecorum Fragmenta by August Nauck (2nd edition 1889, pp. 835–958), as well as in the new edition by Bruno Snell et al 2nd volume edited by Richard Kannicht and Bruno Snell ( Fragmenta adespota. Testimonia volumini 1 addenda. Indices ad volumina 1 et 2. Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Göttingen 1981). If the fragments were retained by Nauck, their numbering was also adopted in the new edition.
