Adolf Kupke

Adolf Kupke (born October 31, 1900 in Döbern ; † June 21, 1975 there ) was a German VdgB and SED functionary. He was a candidate for the Central Committee of the SED and a member of the National Council of the National Front .

Kupke was born on October 31, 1900 in Döbern, the son of a farmer. After elementary school he first worked as a farm worker, later he learned the trade of sheet glassmaker, in which he also worked. In 1926 Kupke joined the SPD , in 1929 he became a member of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . After the Second World War , Kupke initially worked as a farmer and independent farmer. He rejoined the SPD in 1945 and joined the SED in 1946 after the forced unification of the SPD and KPD . Kupke was involved in the emerging association of mutual farmers' aid as a member and functionary, at times he was deputy chairman of the VdgB state board of Brandenburg. The master builder was on the III. SED party congress in July 1950 elected as a candidate to the SED Central Committee and reaffirmed in this function at the fourth party congress. In autumn 1950, Kupke was a member of the first presidium of the National Council of the National Front as a representative of the VdgB. Until 1955, Kupke also worked temporarily as a sales manager at Deutscher Bauernverlag. In 1955 he was appointed chairman of the VdgB district board in Cottbus. Since Kupke spoke out against collectivization and refused to join an LPG, he was released from his offices in July 1958 and excluded from the VdgB.

Kupke died in 1975 in his hometown Döbern.
