Adrian Plass (* 1948 in Royal Tunbridge Wells ) is a Christian British writer . In Germany he is best known as the pious Chaot for his satirical diary series .

Life

After dropping out of acting training, Plass took a job in a house for socially disadvantaged children.

In the German-speaking world, he became well known in the 1990s with his first work, Diary of a Pious Chaot , which ironically and critically describes life in an evangelical congregation. In the following years he became one of the most popular Christian authors from England with his books.

Adrian Plass is a member of the Church of England and lives with his wife Bridget and their four children in Sussex / England. In 1992 his autobiography The Steep Himmelsleiter was published . Plass worked on Focus on the Family . At their Radio Theater he played in the miniseries Father Gilbert Mysteries . He cast the lead role, Father Louis Gilbert, a former London police detective who became an Anglican priest and now solves mysterious cases in the fictional Sussex village of Stonebridge.

In the spring of 2006, his novella The Visit of Zeljka Morawek was filmed at locations in Stuttgart.
