Aedes Tensarum
The Aedes Tensarum (also Aedes Thensarum , Thensarium or Tensarium Vetus ) was a small sanctuary in the Area Capitolina in the immediate vicinity of the temple for Iuppiter Optimus Maximus on the Capitol in Rome . It is mentioned in a military diploma and specifies a location there. The small building was presumably used to store the silver and ivory floats , the tensae , in which statues of gods were transferred to the Circus Maximus for games . It was also known as the tensarium . After Iuppiter's carriage was housed in the Circus Maximus, it was also called Tensarium Vetus . The exact location of the building is not localized.
