Flight advisory service

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The aeronautical information service ( English Aeronautical Information Service , AIS ) is responsible for the provision and exchange of information for planning and conducting operations through publications and counseling before the flight.

tasks

The tasks of flight advice include the provision of aeronautical charts , the provision of aviation manuals , the collection and evaluation of NOTAM (Notices to Airmen) and the receipt and processing of flight plans .

The information is provided by air traffic control ( DFS in Germany , Austro Control GmbH in Austria , skyguide in Switzerland ). Air traffic control messages are to be submitted at the point where a black 'C' is marked on a yellow, square background.

For information during the flight, however, is the Flight Information Service (Engl. Flight information service , FIS ) responsible.

Home briefing

In Austria, the Vienna Flight Service Station (VFSS) (Zentral-AIS) in Vienna / Schwechat offers an internet-based flight advice service in addition to personal flight advice, which contains all flight-relevant (including MET service) data (secured throughout Europe).

Remote connections to www.homebriefing.com are free at all international Austrian airports and many public and private airfields. This system is operated in cooperation with Switzerland, where these services are available in the same way. There are similar systems in Germany (Deutsche Flugsicherung, DFS), Denmark and the United States of America.
