history

In the beginning, the main focus was on the development of training and exam preparation software for pilots and the sale of process trainers.

In 1992 the first additional software ( add-on ), the TOP-Scenery 1, was published for the then Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0. Since the mid-1990s, the field of activity has shifted more and more to the development and sale of add-ons for the Microsoft flight simulator . In addition to the software, Aerosoft developed its first own hardware for flight simulation in 1992.

Since 2002, add-ons for railway simulation have been developed and marketed worldwide. Further traffic simulations were added later.

Aerosoft has 25 permanent employees, 10 trainees and partnerships with independent developers and companies such as PMDG , Flight 1, PILOT's, WILCO, MR Software, 777 Studios, Tocksick Labs, TML Studios, SimTrain.ch, Dovetail, Laminar Research represented with its products in more than 30 countries. Aerosoft software has also been used in professional simulation by various companies since 2008. Aerosoft has been cooperating with the flight simulator developer Laminar Research, USA, since 2011 and is the European exclusive distributor of their X-Plane 10 software. In 2012, Aerosoft took over the Brussels-based company Simware, which specializes in the sale of simulation software and hardware.

The company generates around 50% of its sales abroad. In addition to sales via dealers and distributors, around 120,000 end customers are also looked after via mail order and download via the company's own online shop.
