The Cathedral of St. Nicholas (Slovenian Stolna cerkev sv. Nikolaja ) in the Slovenian city of Murska Sobota is the episcopal church of the Roman Catholic diocese of Murska Sobota .

At the site of today's church there were already Roman temples, which had to give way to the first wooden church. The church was built from 1071 shortly after the Hungarians who settled here converted to the Christian faith. By the Middle Ages, Murska Sobota developed into a church center.

The medieval second church from 1350 was replaced in 1912 by today's neo-Romanesque church. There are some Art Nouveau elements as architectural decorations . Reinforced concrete was also used as building material.

The four bells of the old church were hung again in the new tower. A new organ by Anton Škrabl was installed in the church in 1992. With 37 registers , it is one of the largest organs in the country.
