Afinia Gemina Baebiana

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Afinia Gemina Baebiana was the wife of the Roman emperor Trebonianus Gallus . She lived in the 3rd century AD.

Nothing is known about the life of Baebiana. With Trebonianus Gallus she had the son Volusianus and probably a daughter, Vibia Galla.

After Trebonianus Gallus was elevated to Augustus , Baebiana was denied the title of Augusta . Whether it was because Baebiana was already dead or because the Augusta Herennia Cupressenia Etruscilla was still alive and one wanted to avoid precarious competition remains unclear.
