Africa Positive is a German-language magazine with current reports from Africa , which is published by an association of the same name. It has been published four times a year since 1998 with a print run of around 10,000 copies.

The German-African editorial office is based in Dortmund . The publisher is managed by the magazine's founder, Cameroon- born Veye Tatah . She received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her services in February 2010 in the Dortmund City Hall .

It reports on the countries, people, politics, economy and culture of the continent. The name of the magazine and the association reflects the efforts of the editors to supplement the media coverage of Africa, which otherwise occurs almost exclusively on the occasion of negative events, in order to supplement the positive news. All editorial staff work on a voluntary basis .

The target group is German-speaking readers, including African immigrants in Germany.

The topics are politics, economy, art & culture, sport, books, films, music, the environment, travel and country reports.

The reporting is critical and yet the emphasis is on “positive news” from the continent.
