The African People's Convention ( APC ) is a party in South Africa founded on September 4, 2007 by Themba Godi , the former vice-chairman of the radical Pan Africanist Congress . Themba Godi had left the party together with the two only representatives of the PAC in provincial parliaments, taking with him his mandate as a member of the South African National Assembly (" floor crossing ").

In the parliamentary elections in South Africa in 2009 , the African People's Convention won 0.2 percent of the vote and was able to hold its only seat in the National Assembly , but lost its two representatives in the provincial assemblies of Gauteng and Eastern Cape . In the 2014 elections , she barely retained her seat in the National Assembly.

Like the Pan Africanist Congress, the party officially describes itself as "Africanist, pan-Africanist and socialist ". The symbol of the party is a two-part circle, the upper half contains the image of a sun rising against a green background, the lower half the letters APC.
