African union movement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Afrikaner Eenheidsbewegung (German roughly: "Unity Movement of the Afrikaaner ") was a South African party. She ran under her chairman Cassie Aucamp to the general election of 1999 , in which she received 46,292 votes (0.30%) and a seat in parliament that Aucamp himself occupied. During the legislative period, Aucamp fell out with his party, which he wanted to enter into a new foundation, National Action , but some members opposed the inclusion of Coloreds in the new party. Aucamp used the floor crossing period in 2003 to switch to National Action , which meant that the Afrikaner Eenheids movement lost its seat in parliament.

In the following elections in 2004 , the National Action failed to enter parliament. The Afrikaner Eenheidsbewegung had already merged with the Konserwatiewe Party and the Vryheidsfront to form the Vryheidsfront Plus , which, in contrast to the National Action , succeeded in entering parliament.
