Inforpress officially Agência Cabo-Verdiana de Notícias , the state news agency of Cape Verde . It publishes its reports in Portuguese . Jacqueline Elisa Barreto de Carvalho has been heading the agency since October 2017 .

The Inforpress agency was founded in 1988 in the Cape Verdean capital Praia under the name Cabopress . It has had its current name since 1998.

At the Communication Forum of the Community of Portuguese- Speaking Countries (CPLP) in Lisbon in July 1996, the Aliança das Agências de Informação de Língua Portuguesa , the association of Portuguese-language news agencies, was founded. Cabopress was one of the seven founding members, its then head Luís Felipe Silva became the first president of the ALP.
