Theodorou or Agii Theodori ( Greek Άγιοι Θεόδωροι ) is a small Greek island off the northwest coast of Crete . The island is about a square kilometer and is located just under a kilometer off the north coast of Crete, about eight kilometers west of the city of Chania . The highest point on the rock island is 165 m high. Cretan wild goats , which were released there in 1928, live on the uninhabited island .
In the Venetian era, there were two fortresses built in 1574 on the island, then called San Todero. At the beginning of the war for Crete in 1645, after the island was occupied by the Turks, they were destroyed by the defenders by blowing up the powder magazine.
