Agio (from Italian agio = convenience ) has the following meanings:

  • In the financial world the premium on the nominal value, for example of securities, see agio
  • In numismatics , agio denotes a premium for the new issue of coins
  • In the case of cigars (or cigarillos), agio means that the cover sheet (the wrapping) is made of pure tobacco and not, as is the case with cigarettes, of paper and thus represents added value.
