The Agro Holding Avangard (Avangardco Investments Public Ltd) is a Ukrainian agricultural group with operational headquarters in Kiev , specializing in the production and marketing of eggs and egg products ( egg powder specializes). With a population of 18.6 million laying hens , 6.3 billion laid eggs and over 21,000 tons of dry eggs produced (own information, as of 2014), the Avangard Group is the largest egg producer in Europe. In terms of the number of laying hens, Avangard was the second largest egg producer in the world on January 1, 2012, behind the US company Cal-Maine . In Ukraine, Avangard claims to be one of the largest agribusiness companies and the largest industrial egg producer with a market share of 49%. The products are exported to numerous countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the CIS and Europe.

As a vertically integrated company, Avangard has 19 battery packs, three hatcheries, ten rearing farms, six feed mills, three warehouses and an egg drying facility.

The company was founded in 2003 by Oleh Bachmatjuk (Oleg Bakhmatyuk) by taking over an existing laying hen plant. He previously worked for the state oil company Naftohas .

The company 's stock has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2010 . The largest shareholder is UkrLandfarming PLC, which is controlled by the founder, while the second largest shareholder is Omtron Ltd., also controlled by Bachmatjuk.
