Aguiar is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Barcelos . The community had 546 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the regional reform on September 29, 2013 , the municipalities of Aguiar and Quintiães were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Quintiães e Aguiar .
