The Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) is an art museum in Ubud , Bali , Indonesia .

The art museum, located in a garden, was officially opened on June 9, 1996 by the then Indonesian Minister of Education, Wardiman Djojonegero . ARMA is administered by the foundation of the same name, which was founded on May 13, 1996. The permanent exhibition contains paintings by local and foreign artists who have lived in Bali. Some of the pictures are in the possession of the ARMA Foundation, while others were loaned by the Agung Rai family. In addition to the art exhibition, theater and dance performances take place in the ARMA and training courses and workshops are offered.

The art collection ranges from traditional works, such as paintings on tree bark in the Kamasan style or masterpieces from the 1930s and 1940s by artists from Batuan, to contemporary art. It is the only museum in Bali that exhibits paintings by Walter Spies , a German artist who lived and worked in Bali in the 1930s, and Raden Saleh , who is considered the founder of modern Indonesian painting. Furthermore, works by Balinese masters such as I Gusty Nyoman Lempad, Ida Bagus Made, Anak Agung Gde Sobrat and I Gusti Made Deblog as well as by foreign artists who have lived in Bali are on display. These include Willem Gerard Hofker, Rudolf Bonnet , Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur and Willem Dooijewaard.

The museum consists of several buildings designed in Balinese style, but larger than traditional structures. Wherever possible, local building materials were used for the construction. The two main buildings are the 3300 m² Balé Daja and the 1200 m² Balé Dauh. They are surrounded by spacious gardens with ponds and fountains. The Hotel Arma Resort and two restaurants are also located on the site of the museum.
