The Ahabic ( Arabic احابيش, DMG Aḥābīš ) were a confederation of small Arab tribes founded in the times of Muhammad , in the vicinity of Mecca , originally against the Quraish ruling in Mecca . Through Muhammad's caravan raids and his hostility to their gods, they joined the resistance against him and, together with the Quraish and other tribes, attacked the Muslims in Medina in trench warfare .
