Ahmed Bey Sofwan

Ahmed Bey Sofwan is an Indonesian diplomat.

Career

Ahmed Bey Sofwan was the first Indonesian ambassador to East Timor . He was appointed ambassador on July 29, 2003. Previously, he was the deputy chief of Badan Intelijen Negara (BIN), the Indonesian secret service. In 2009 Eddy Setiabudhi became the new ambassador to East Timor.

In 1998 Sofwan was the deputy head of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office in Taipei , the de facto Indonesian embassy in the Republic of China (Taiwan) .
