Air Force Training Ribbon

The Air Force Training Ribbon is the lowest military decoration of the United States Air Force . The award has been given to every soldier who has successfully completed one of four training programs since October 1980. The four programs that authorize the wearing of the Air Force Training Ribbon are basic Air Force training, a degree from the United States Air Force Academy , the Reserve Officer Training Corps, or successful participation in the Air Force Officer Training School .

Soldiers who had completed their basic training prior to 1981 also received the award if they were still in service. A soldier who has successfully completed more than one training program is awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon with Oak Leaves .

The Air Force Training Ribbon is similar to the Army Service Ribbon .
